The Chilean-bred stallion HL El Ganador has made a remarkable impression on the European show circuit. In 2019, he clinched the Silver Champion Colt title at both the All Nations Cup and the World Championships, showcasing his exceptional qualities.
What makes HL El Ganador truly stand out is his pedigree, a departure from the typical bloodlines commonly seen in today’s top halter show horses. Instead of featuring prominent sires like Marwan Al Shaqab or FA El Shawan, his lineage presents a unique mix:
His sire, HP Shakir TE, traces back to the legendary Bey Shah but through a less common line. Rather than descending from the famous Versace-Fame VF show line, HP Shakir TE’s lineage includes Palissade, the 1996 Scottsdale Reserve Champion Junior Colt. Palissade’s dam, Pepper Rose, was an Aladdinn daughter whose ancestry connects to the Gainey breeding program, popular in the 1960s.
On his dam’s side, HL El Ganador descends from Lonco Baby Maria, whose bloodline is rarely seen in the halter ring. She traces back to 74 Tifle, an old mare family from Babolna, well-known in Germany through the mare Kho-Rha by Kuhailan Zaid. Kho-Rha was a foundation mare at Gertraude Griesbach’s Achental Stud, one of Germany’s earliest Arabian breeding programs post-WWII.
Lonco Baby Maria herself was sired by HP Emir, a Chilean National Reserve Champion Stallion. HP Emir’s pedigree features German influences through his sire ST Synbad, whose dam line traces to the esteemed mare Sanacht.
HL El Ganador’s show success isn’t limited to his early years. As a mature stallion, he has continued to shine on the global stage. In 2022, he was awarded Silver Champion Stallion at the All Nations Cup and Menton. He became Bronze World Champion Stallion in Paris in 2022 and 2024.
HL El Ganador’s legacy shines brightly through his exceptional offspring, who are already making their mark in the show ring and breeding programs worldwide.
Among them are Comoros (out of Cedora) and Samir DA (out of Savannah OS), both of whom achieved prestigious honors at the 2024 European Championships. Samir DA was crowned Bronze Yearling Champion Colt, while Comoros took the top prize as Gold Yearling Champion Colt.
Another notable son, Emperador AT (out of Emara AT), earned the title of 2022 Menton Silver Champion Yearling Colt, further underscoring the influence of HL El Ganador's unique and distinguished lineage.
With his remarkable achievements and rare pedigree, HL El Ganador continues to prove that innovation in bloodlines can produce champions, solidifying his place as a trailblazer in the halter show world.
