Among the finest expressions of the Ansata breeding vision in the modern era, the 1999-born grey stallion Ansata Selman exemplified the timeless elegance and refined presence of the Straight Egyptian Arabian. Bred by the legendary Ansata Arabian Stud in the U.S., Ansata Selman was sired by the charismatic Ansata Hejazi—a son of Ansata Halim Shah and a global ambassador of the Ansata program.
His dam G Shafaria (by Prince Fa Moniet out of Ansata Sharifa) added even further depth to his heritage, blending the classic Moniet el Nefous influence from her sire with the Ansata Bint Misr branch of the Dahmah Shahwaniyah family. G Shafaria was recognized early on as a mare of international quality, and was exported to Qatar in 1999, where she joined the elite broodmare band at Al Rayyan Stud.
Before following his dam to Qatar, Ansata Selman produced elegant foals in Germany. El Thay Mahfouz, a Ansata Selman son bred by El Thayeba Arabians, became an influential broodmare sire within the esteemed German program, known for preserving classical desert type. His paternal half-sister El Thay Malikah has likewise proven herself as a broodmare of depth and significance, continuing the legacy of balanced motion, correctness, and ethereal type associated with her sire.
Ansata Selman sired the Israeli National Champion Insha Sha Latifa who became a valuable broodmare at Ariela Arabians.
Another daughter, Thoraya Al Zobair, has also contributed meaningfully to breeding programs, further broadening the international reach of Selman's line.
His most notable son is Shagran Al Nasser, a colt of exceptional presence who amassed a series of prestigious titles: Junior Reserve Champion Colt at the Egyptian Event Europe (2008), Reserve Champion Colt at the Qatar International Show (2006), Classwinner at both the Dubai and Sharjah shows (2006), and the Qatar National Champion Colt (2006).
Ansata Selman represented a thoughtful continuation of the Ansata breeding philosophy, combining classical type with structural correctness and international appeal. His influence was visible in both the show ring and the breeding barn, with offspring contributing to respected programs across the Middle East and Europe. As a sire, he had proven to be a consistent transmitter of quality and refinement, maintaining the relevance of his lineage in contemporary Straight Egyptian breeding.
