Nadeem B

Nadeem B is a grey purebred Arabian stallion, born on March 23, 2007 at Bábolna Stud in Hungary. He was bred and is owned by Bábolna. The stallion is registered at 158 cm (approximately 15.2 hands).
Nadeem B’s sire, Halim Shah I, represents an important chapter in Bábolna’s Egyptian breeding program. Foaled in 1985, he was a son by the renowned Ansata Halim Shah (Ansata Ibn Halima x Ansata Rosetta) out of 214 Ibn Galal I, a daughter of Ibn Galal I and 9 Tamria. His pedigree thus combined the influential Ansata blood through Ansata Ibn Halima with Ibn Galal I. German breeder Dr. Hans-Joachim Nagel, who had long-standing collaboration with Bábolna, recalled that Ibn Galal I had given the stud’s breeding stock a distinctive and widely appreciated look. Halim Shah I would eventually become a breeding sire at Bábolna. Through his son Nadeem B, his influence would continue at the stud, where Nadeem B would go on to contribute to the breeding program.
Nadeem B’s dam, Nadeemah II, was by ZT Sahjat and out of AK Nawaal, a mare noted for her refined, exotic type. By The Egyptian Prince and out of Dahmah Shahwaniah, AK Nawaal became one of the foundation mares of Rosemarie Kolster’s Authentic Egyptian Arabians in Germany. Her own story was international: bred in the United States, she was acquired by Count Federico Zichy-Thyssen for his breeding program in Argentina before eventually coming to Germany. There, she established herself as an influential broodmare and was awarded the title of German Elite Mare. Among her notable offspring was Authentic Ibn Nawaal, by Maysoun, who was named German National Reserve Champion Colt in 2001 and German National Champion Colt the next year.
AK Nawaal’s dam, Dahmah Shahwaniah, was by Ansata Ibn Halima and out of Bint Maisa El Saghira, whose family produced the celebrated stallion Shaikh Al Badi. A major sire in his own right, Shaikh Al Badi produced such influential horses as Ruminaja Ali, Ruminaja Bahjat and Anaza Bay Shahh. This creates a particularly fascinating connection to ZT Sahjat, the sire of Nadeemah II. ZT Sahjat was by Ruminaja Bahjat, a son of Shaikh Al Badi. Thus, the Gleannloch's broodmare Bint Maisa El Saghira appears on both sides of Nadeemah II’s pedigree.
Nadeem B himself was evaluated both in the show ring and under saddle. In 2011, he passed the performance test at Bábolna required for a breeding license, which included conformation, movement and ridden performance. His endurance record followed in 2012 and 2013, when he successfully completed rides over both 40 km and 80 km. In 2013, he also competed in an approximately 85 km CEIYJ* endurance ride, finishing second. His show record includes a first-place result in the 7–9-year-old stallion class at the 2014 Arab Lovak Fesztiválja at Bábolna.
Unfortunately, only a limited number of Nadeem B’s offspring are publicly documented. Among them is 838 Udeema, born in 2016 out of 719 Unia. In 2020, she was included in the breeding program of the National Stud Farm Topolcianky in Slovakia.
Now an older stallion, Nadeem B represents the continuation of Egyptian bloodlines that travelled across several breeding programs and countries before coming together at Bábolna.
