About Alma Al Tiglio
Alma Al Tiglio born in March 2008 and she was something special from the first breath she took. Bred by Giancarlo Buzzi in Italy, her lineage unites Russian and Crabbet influences through her sire with Polish, Russian, and Egyptian elements on her dam’s side.
Through her sire Ajman Moniscione, Alma Al Tiglio inherits the refinement and brilliance of one of the most recognizable modern sons of WH Justice. Ajman Moniscione rose quickly to prominence not only for his own show-ring successes, but for the unmistakable stamp he left on his offspring across Europe and the Middle East. His progeny became known for their luminous expression, animated presence and elegant balance. Breeders often speak of the reliability with which Ajman transmitted type and charisma—qualities that ensured his influence would reach far beyond Italy. His passing in 2025 marked the end of an era, yet mares like Alma Al Tiglio continue the legacy of beauty and refinement that made him one of the most talked-about stallions of his generation.
Alma Al Tiglio’s dam, Amanda Al Tiglio, is a daughter of Shamilah Masai Mara (by Warandes Plakat) out of Mahatma Ambra, also by Warandes Plakat—making Amanda a double granddaughter of the great Warandes Plakat.
Amanda’s maternal lineage carries the Roga El Beda family through Moniet El Nefous, one of the most influential Egyptian mares of the 20th century. This tail-female line is known for producing mares of strong reproductive prepotency, effortless femininity, and an ability to transmit beauty consistently.
Notably, Amanda Al Tiglio stands as the maternal great-granddam of Psyches Amber Gem, the 1995 World Junior Champion Filly.
Alma Al Tiglio enjoyed a show career that placed her firmly among the most admired mares of her generation. She first drew international attention as a earning her leading titles on the European circuit and confirming her ability to compete at the highest level. She was European Silver Champion Filly in 2009. The following season she returned with even greater maturity and presence, securing Silver Champion Filly at the prestigious All Nations Cup and later at the World Championships, where her elegance and femininity were widely noted by judges and breeders alike.
In 2018, as a fully mature mare, she reappeared in the ring at the Italian Nationals where she was Senior Champion Mare. Later that year, Alma Al Tiglio was awarded Senior Bronze Champion Mare at the European Championships—a testament not only to her enduring quality, but to the depth and longevity that define her dam line.
In Italy she left four foals for Il Moniscione, before she was acquired by Sweden Arabian Stud of the Ohlsson family. For that Swedish stud, she gave birth to seven more foals of which her daughter Alexandra O (by Excalibur EA) will continue her legacy.
