AJ Sawahi
Foaled in 2010, AJ Sawahi is a bay mare bred and owned by Ajman Stud, United Arab Emirates, one of the most influential modern breeding programs in the Arabian horse world. Sired by the triple World Champion Marwan Al Shaqab (Gazal Al Shaqab x Little Liza Fame), AJ Sawahi represents a deliberate and highly successful blending of elite contemporary show lines with a deeply rooted and historically significant dam line.
The sire line of AJ Sawahi requires little introduction. Marwan Al Shaqab, by Gazal Al Shaqab and out of the Fame VF daughter Little Liza Fame, is one of the most prepotent stallions of the modern era. His influence on global halter breeding is profound, marked by his ability to transmit extreme type, expressive heads, and show-ring presence, while retaining balance and athleticism. Through him, AJ Sawahi carries a concentration of internationally proven genetics that have reshaped contemporary Arabian horse type.
On the dam side, Siberia SA brings a complementary dimension. By Nuzyr HCF, and out of Eternia SA (Hafati Apollo x RL Egyptian Hagg), Siberia SA combines bloodlines of Aladdinn, Ali Jamaal, Bey Shah on the sire's side while her dam-line traces back to the Babson-bred Bint Serra I.
AJ Sawahi’s show career stands as one of the most remarkable junior mare records of her generation. As a yearling in 2010 and 2011, she dominated the show-ring across the Middle East and Europe, earning Gold Champion Filly titles at the UAE Nationals, Abu Dhabi International, Qatar International, and All Nations Cup. Her unanimous Junior Female Gold Championship at the 2011 World Championships was particularly significant, as it came in the final year before the separation of age groups, requiring direct competition against older fillies.
As a two-year-old, AJ Sawahi appeared only once, at the 2012 Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship, where she was again awarded the unanimous Junior Female Gold Championship, confirming the consistency of her quality across seasons.
The decision to return AJ Sawahi to the show-ring in 2013 for a single appearance at the World Championships in Paris was both bold and historically consequential. Having already secured a unanimous Junior World title two years earlier, expectations were high. AJ Sawahi not only met them, but exceeded them, reclaiming the Junior Female World Championship unanimously.
AJ Sawahi is part of a remarkable trio of full sisters bred at Ajman Stud. AJ Sawari (2013-2022) quickly established herself as a top yearling, winning Gold at the All Nations Cup and Silver at the World Championships in 2014. Her other younger sister AJ Saray (2015) achieved Gold Champion Junior Filly at the 2018 Abu Dhabi International Show and was the highest-scoring horse of the event, further reinforcing the genetic strength and consistency of this cross.
Following her show career, AJ Sawahi transitioned into her role as a broodmare, where her influence continues to unfold. Among her most notable progeny is AJ Sajwa (2016 grey mare by Shanghai EA), who has distinguished herself as Silver Champion Mare at the 25th Sharjah International Arabian Horse Championship and Bronze Champion Mare at the Al Shiraa’aa International Arabian Horse Championship in 2025.
Additional offspring include AJ Samraa (2014 bay mare by Marajj), AJ Sawasi (2015 bay mare by AJ Portofino), and AJ Sadem (2017 grey mare by Shanghai EA).
AJ Sawahi stands as a benchmark example of modern Arabian breeding success: a mare whose extraordinary show record is firmly anchored in a pedigree of substance and historical depth. Her achievements in the ring, secure her place not only as Ajman Stud’s first homebred Gold World Champion mare, but as a lasting influence within contemporary Arabian horse breeding.
