Al Farid is a son by US top producer Simeon Shai who died in 2013. Simeon Shai combines best Egyptian lines of El Zahraa as well as of the Egyptian branch in Babolna.
Al Farid's paternal granddam Simeon Safanad founded her own dynasty including stallions like Simeon Stav, Simeon Shai and Simeon Sadik.
Al Farid is a son out of Mohebah, a mare born in 1993 by El Shahwan. Her pedigree includes old Egyptian horses exported to Germany that were used at Marbach state stud.
